National Centre for Coastal Research
The National Centre for Sustainable Coastal Management (NCSCM), located in Chennai, is a research institute functioning under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC), Government of India. The institute was established with the vision of managing the Indian coastline in a sustainable manner, reflecting the government's focus on coastal research and environmental management. A significant milestone in the institute's development was the inauguration of its newly constructed building, which was formally opened by Honourable Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan on 15 July 2017. This event marked an important step in strengthening the institute's infrastructure to support its research and policy work related to coastal sustainability. The available text does not provide details regarding the exact founding year of the institute, nor does it specify any academic affiliation with a university or board. Additionally, no official website URL is explicitly stated within the text, though references to related external links, including one to Anna University, are mentioned without further elaboration on the nature of that connection.
