National Institute of Technology Delhi

National Institute of Technology Delhi (NIT Delhi) was established in 2010 through an Act of Parliament as one of India's 31 National Institutes of Technology, granting it the status of an Institute of National Importance. It began under the mentorship of NIT Warangal, with its first B.Tech cohort in CSE, ECE, and EEE admitted for 2010-11. The institute later moved to a temporary site in Dwarka (2012), then to the IAMR campus in Narela (2014), before full operations began at its purpose-built permanent campus on GT Karnal Road, Narela, in February 2022. Academic offerings expanded over time, including an M.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering (2013-14), a PhD programme (2014), and an M.Tech in Power Electronics and Drives (2017-18). The permanent campus is being developed in phases, with Phase-1A completed, housing classrooms, laboratories, and incubation suites, while Phase-1B will add a central academic building, hostel, staff quarters, and the Director's residence. The campus features an RFID-enabled central library, a computer centre, Wi-Fi-enabled hostels, health and guest-house facilities, and sports infrastructure. The institute hosts an annual sports meet called ZEAL.
