PUNJAB COLLEGE OF LAW
Punjab University Law College (PULC) is a public sector law school situated at the Quaid-e-Azam Campus in Lahore, affiliated with the University of the Punjab. Founded in 1868 by the literary society Anjuman-e-Punjab, it is the oldest law institute in Pakistan and the first to offer legal education in a Muslim-majority area of the Indian subcontinent. It became a constituent college of the University of the Punjab in 1870. Over its history, the duration and structure of its LL.B. programme changed multiple times, from two years to three, and later to a five-year integrated B.A. LL.B. degree in 2016 under Pakistan Bar Council rules. The college relocated from its original site on Katchery Road to the Quaid-e-Azam Campus in 1978. It also offers an LL.M. programme, introduced in 1981–82, combining coursework and research. As of 2013, it had about 1,600 students, and it currently offers 200 seats in its B.A. LL.B. programmes. The institution is regarded as one of the highest-ranked law colleges in Pakistan, known for its rigorous merit requirements, low fees, and notable alumni including lawyers, judges, and statesmen.
