Aligarh Muslim University, Malappuram Centre.

Aligarh Muslim University Malappuram Centre, also called AMU-Malappuram Campus, is one of the prominent educational institutions of Aligarh Muslim University situated in Kerala's Malappuram district, near Perinthalmanna at Cherukara. It was established in 2010 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, after the AMU submitted a proposal in 2008 for setting up five centres; the government sanctioned funding for two, Malappuram and Murshidabad, with former President Pratibha Patil according sanction as Visitor. The centre began functioning in February 2011, inaugurated by Kapil Sibal and Oommen Chandy at Chelamala near Perinthalmanna with MBA and BA.LL.B (Hons) courses. In 2013, a BEd programme was inaugurated by E. Ahamed, who noted it was the best among AMU's three centres. The centre has three departments—Law, Management, and Education—approved by bodies such as NCTE and BCI, and inspected by UGC and NAAC in June 2017. Administration is managed from AMU's main campus at Aligarh via a Coordinator under the Vice Chancellor, with Dr. Faisal KP serving as officiating director since May 2019. The Faculty of Law offers a five-year integrated B.A.LL.B (Hons) course and includes a Law Society established in 2014.
