XIM UNIVERSITY, BHUBANESWAR

XIM University is a Jesuit, Catholic university situated near Jatani town on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. It was authorized by the Odisha Legislative Assembly in 2013, becoming the first Jesuit university in India, though the Jesuits have run over 50 colleges and several hundred educational institutes in the country. The university traces its legacy to the Xavier Institute of Management Bhubaneswar (XIMB), founded by the Jesuits in 1987, which now serves as a constituent school offering only the MBA-BM program. Other programs previously under XIMB, such as Rural Management and Human Resource Management, are now run by separate constituent schools, including the School of Rural Management and the School of Human Resource Management. The university also includes the Xavier Law School (founded 2018) and the School of Commerce (founded 2014), along with several newer schools in fields like sustainability, communications, computer science, and economics. Fifty percent of seats are reserved for students from Odisha. With support from Hewlett Packard and IBM, XIM University considers itself India's first fully digitized university, and it hosts multiple academic research centres across various disciplines.
