Gaya College of Engineering

Gaya College of Engineering (GCE) is a public technical institute in Gaya, Bihar, India, administered by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of Bihar. It is affiliated with Bihar Engineering University, Patna, and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education under the Ministry of Education. Established in 1981 under the chairmanship of Shri Ramashray Prasad Singh, the institute was originally known as Magadh Engineering College from 1980 to 1994 before being re-established under its current name. It was formally inaugurated by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on 19 November 2008. The campus, spread over 87 acres on Bihar State Highway-4 near Shrikrishnanagar, includes two academic buildings, a workshop, a canteen, and a bank branch. It offers undergraduate courses in five engineering streams and postgraduate M.Tech programs in Civil, Electrical & Electronics, Computer Science, and Mechanical Engineering. Admissions are based on JEE and GATE scores through Bihar's counselling boards. The institute provides five hostels, a central library, sports facilities, and a training and placement cell to support student development and career opportunities.
