Sovarani Memorial College
Sovarani Memorial College, located in Howrah, West Bengal, stands as a legacy named after Sovarani Datta, also known as Shobha Rani Dutta, an Indian revolutionary who lived from 11 September 1906 to 9 November 1950. Datta was born in Kolkata to Labanyaprabha Dutta, a leader of the Indian National Congress, and Jatindranath Dutta. She was educated at Brahma Girls School in Kolkata and later at Prem Mahavidyalaya in Vrindavan, an institution founded by Raja Mahendra Pratap. Datta was known for establishing Ananda Math and for her active involvement in the Satyagrah Samiti. Her revolutionary activities led to her conviction in two significant cases: the Titagarh conspiracy case and the Dalhousie Square Bomb case. The college in Howrah bears her name as a memorial to her contributions and legacy as a revolutionary figure in India's independence movement. No further details about the college's founding, affiliation, or official website are provided in the available text.
