Kanya Maha Vidyalaya Jalandhar

Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (The Heritage Autonomous Institution), known as KMV, is a women's college in Jalandhar, Punjab, India, established in Jullunder in 1890 (some sources say 1886) as Arya Kanya Pathshala by Lala Dev Raj. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and diplomas to approximately 4000 students on a campus of around 32 acres. The current principal is Dr. Neeraj Maini, and the college president is Dhruv Mittal. KMV is the only college under GNDU to be awarded Kaushal Kendra (Skill Development Center) status by UGC and MHRD, running five B.Voc courses since 2015. It is the first college in the region to offer a Student Exchange Programme allowing students to shift grades to Lesley and Chatham University, USA, after their first year. KMV became the first women's college in Punjab to receive Autonomous status from UGC and has been awarded Top Rankings by India Today and Outlook Express in 2019, 2020, and 2021. The college has introduced 17 new job-oriented and skill-enhancing courses, including 8 postgraduate and 9 undergraduate programs, bringing its total postgraduate programmes to 19.
