Army College of Medical Science

Army College of Medical Sciences, also known as ACMS New Delhi, is an Indian medical college affiliated with Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. It is supported by the Army Welfare Education Society (AWES) of the Indian Army, catering to wards of serving and retired Army personnel. The college is situated near Base Hospital Delhi Cantt, New Delhi, and admits 100 students each year. It is an army-aided institution run by the Indian Army and is considered among the top 25 medical colleges in India. The college opened in 2008 with its first batch, called the Alpha Batch, and has since had subsequent batches named alphabetically, such as Bravo, Charlie, Delta, up to Kilo in 2020. The teaching hospital affiliated with the college is Base Hospital, run by the armed forces. Admission is through NEET UG, conducted by the National Testing Agency, with a merit list prepared and sent to the university for counselling. Eligible candidates must be wards of Army personnel and have cleared their higher senior secondary examination with 50 percent in PCB and English as compulsory subjects. Upon completion, students may join the armed forces or pursue civil practice.
