INDIAN INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT LUCKNOW

IIM Lucknow was established in 1984 by the Government of India as the fourth Indian Institute of Management, after IIM Calcutta, IIM Ahmedabad, and IIM Bangalore. Noted academic Ishwar Dayal served as its founding director for four years, and Hari Shankar Singhania chaired the Board of Governors from 1992 to 2007. The Post Graduate Programme began in 1985–86 with 30 students, initially held in rented rooms at Butler Palace before moving to the Giri Institute of Developmental Studies; the current 200-acre campus in Prabandh Nagar, on Lucknow's outskirts, was built in 1992. In 2005, IIM Lucknow became the first IIM to open a second campus, a 20-acre site in Sector-62, Noida, for executive education, later adding PGP Sustainable Management in 2015. The institute offers a two-year MBA, executive programmes (including IPMX and PGP for working executives), and doctoral studies, with admissions via CAT, GMAT, or a written examination followed by WAT and PI. Its programmes hold triple accreditation from AMBA, EQUIS, and AACSB, and it maintains exchange tie-ups with 24 business schools worldwide. The campus features academic blocks, a library, computer centre, incubation centre, residential facilities, sports infrastructure, and a health centre.
