ALLAHABAD INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
The provided text discusses the All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), a group of autonomous government medical universities in India established under an Act of Parliament and declared Institutes of National Importance. It outlines various phases of AIIMS-related development under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY). Under 'Phase III' of this program, several existing medical college hospitals in Uttar Pradesh were selected to be modernized and upgraded into super-specialty facilities modeled on AIIMS. The text specifically names four colleges initially included in this phase: those at Gorakhpur, Allahabad, Meerut, and Jhansi. Later, two more colleges—Sarojini Naidu Medical College, Agra, and Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Memorial (GSVM) Medical College, Kanpur—were added to the list. No additional information is given in the text about the founding year, affiliation, website, or specific details of the Allahabad institution beyond its inclusion in this modernization initiative.
