Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering and Technology

Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering (SVCE) is an engineering institution located at Pennalur, Sriperumbudur, near Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Founded in November 1985 by the Sri Venkateswara Educational and Health Trust with backing from the Southern Petrochemical Industries Corporation (SPIC) group, it initially offered courses in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Computer Science and Engineering, awarded by the University of Madras. The college moved to its Pennalur campus in 1991 and received AICTE approval the same year. It expanded its offerings over the years, adding Electrical & Electronics and Chemical Engineering in 1994, and became the first college in India to offer Information Technology in 1996. SVCE obtained autonomy from the UGC in 2016, valid until 2032, and received ISO 21001:2018 certification in 2024. It holds a NAAC A+ grade and was ranked in the 151-200 band by NIRF in 2023. The college has a large library, extensive sports infrastructure, and eleven departments recognized as collaborative research centres by Anna University for PhD studies, supported by a Technology Innovation Center for research and innovation.
