INSTITUTE OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY

DA-IICT, officially renamed Dhirubhai Ambani University (DAU) in March 2024, is a private university in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India, named after Reliance Group founder Dhirubhai Ambani. It is run by the Dhirubhai Ambani Foundation and promoted by the Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group. The institute began admitting students in August 2001 with 240 undergraduates for its B.Tech. program in Information and Communication Technology. It later expanded to offer M.Tech., M.Sc. in Data Science, M.Sc. in Information Technology, M.Sc. in Agriculture and Rural Development, M.Des., and Ph.D. programs. The first postgraduate batch graduated in 2004 and the first undergraduate batch in 2005. In 2004, a Gujarat High Court case involving DA-IICT students led to changes in CAT eligibility criteria. In 2023, the institute ranked first in the IIRF Ranking for private universities. In March 2024, the Gujarat Legislative Assembly passed a bill renaming the institute to align with the National Education Policy 2020, reflecting its broadened academic scope beyond ICT. Students have achieved notable recognitions in competitions such as the Microsoft Imagine Cup, Google Summer of Code, and HackerRank rankings.
