ANDHRA LOYOLA COLLEGE
Andhra Loyola College (ALC), also known locally as "Loyola College," is a private Catholic institution established on 9 December 1953 by the Society of Jesus in Andhra Pradesh, India. By March 2024, it offered 38 undergraduate and six postgraduate programs across Science, Arts, and Commerce. The college is autonomous and uses the Choice-Based Credit System (CBCS) with a semester system, and is affiliated with Krishna University. Admissions for M.Sc. courses use KRU-CET, while MBA and MCA admissions use I-CET. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council in 2008 highlighted its autonomous status, dedicated faculty, and good infrastructure, while noting limited research activity, which has since improved with 16 recognized research guides. The campus spans 98 acres with 52 classrooms, 22 labs, two libraries holding 83,000 volumes, hostels, an auditorium seating 2500, and sports facilities. Andhra Loyola Engineering College was inaugurated on the same campus in 2008. Notable alumni include Jayaprakash Narayan, Ramalinga Raju, and former Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy. In 2021, the college received a national award for promoting environmental and Swachh Bharat practices.
