LITTLE FLOWER COLLEGE, GURUVAYUR
Little Flower College was established on July 1, 1955, with an inaugural address delivered by Reverend Dr. George Alappat, Bishop of Thrissur, and Rev. Sr. Mary Victoria serving as the first principal. The college was founded by the Franciscan Clarist Congregation and falls under the religious jurisdiction of the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Thrissur, with administration under the Assisi Province of the Franciscan Congregation. Although it originated from the University of Madras, the college was later affiliated with the University of Kerala in 1957, and subsequently with the University of Calicut in 1968. It began functioning as a Second Grade College in March 1957. After introducing a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, the institution was upgraded to a First Grade College. Today, it operates as a women's Catholic college in Guruvayur, India. In 2017, the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) ranked the college 49th in India, reflecting its academic standing among Indian higher education institutions.
