Gujarat Technological University (GTU), also referred to as the International Innovative University, is a public state university headquartered in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. It was formed by the state government on 16 May 2007 to provide more efficient and systematic technical education, replacing the earlier arrangement under Gujarat University, which had overseen all colleges including technical ones. GTU affiliates a large number of engineering, pharmacy, and management colleges across Gujarat, with 485 colleges and over 400,000 students currently associated with it. Notable affiliated institutions include Lalbhai Dalpatbhai College of Engineering, Birla Vishvakarma Mahavidyalaya, and Vishwakarma Government Engineering College, along with many government engineering colleges. The university offers diploma, degree, and Master of Engineering courses, Ph.D. doctoral programs, pharmacy courses for bachelor's and master's levels, and management courses including MCA. GTU declares winter exam results from February to April and summer exam results from June to August. In 2013, GTU established the GTU Innovation Council (GIC) to support student startups through mentorship, workshops, and initiatives like the Crowdfunding Initiator program. In 2024, GTU was ranked 70th in India for pharmacy by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF).
