BIJU PATTANAIK FILM & TELEVISION INSTITUTE OF ODISHA

The Biju Pattanaik Film and Television Institute of Odisha (BPFTIO) is an autonomous institute established in 1998 by the Government of Odisha under a World Bank assisted scheme. It was created to meet the growing demand for well-trained technical manpower in television network and film production activities. Situated on the bank of the river Mahanadi in Cuttack, BPFTIO occupies an independent space within the campus of the Bhubanananda Orissa School of Engineering (BOSE), the oldest engineering school in the state. The institute is funded by the Government of Odisha's Department of Employment and Technical Education & Training. BPFTIO offers three-year diploma courses in three disciplines: Cinematography, Sound and TV Engineering (Audiography), and Film and Video Editing. The institute is equipped with some of the most advanced and sophisticated equipment in the Eastern Region, and its three disciplines are managed by experienced faculty. Fourteen batches of students have completed the Cinematography course, while eleven batches each have completed Sound & TV Engineering and Film & Video Editing. Graduates of the institute have found employment in government and private sectors, media channels, and the television and film industry.
