Hyderabad School of Management

The Indian School of Business (ISB) is a private business school with campuses in Hyderabad, Telangana and Mohali, Punjab, India, offering post-graduate management programs. It was started in 1996 by a group of businessmen and academics, including co-founders Rajat Gupta and Anil Kumar of McKinsey & Company, who directed McKinsey consultants to help establish the school. Formal partnerships were established with international business schools Wharton and Kellogg. Pramath Sinha became the school's first dean, and Rajat Gupta was its first chairman, succeeded by Adi Godrej in 2011. The Hyderabad campus foundation stone was laid in 1999 and inaugurated by Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in 2001, spread across 260 acres and designed by Vikram Lall. The Mohali campus began operations in 2012, designed by Perkins Eastman Architects, and hosts several research institutes. ISB is accredited by AMBA, EQUIS, and AACSB, achieving triple accreditation in 2020, though it is not accredited by the AICTE as it offers a certificate program rather than a degree. ISB has been ranked internationally, including 12th in the Financial Times Global MBA Ranking 2026.
