Government College of Engineering, Karad

Government College of Engineering, Karad (GCEK) is an autonomous technical institute in Maharashtra, India, established in 1960 and affiliated with Shivaji University, having received autonomous status from the UGC in 2015. Located in Vidyanagar, Karad, the college has produced about 10,140 engineers and over 700 computer professionals through its Master of Computer Application course. It comprises departments including Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, Information Technology, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Basic Sciences and Humanities, and Master of Computer Applications. Admissions to undergraduate programmes are governed by the State CET Cell and DTE through MHT-CET, while postgraduate admissions are based on GATE scores. The college offers five undergraduate and six postgraduate programmes, including Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, IT, and Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, along with M.Tech specializations and an MCA program. The 40-acre green campus includes residential hostels for boys and girls, a central library with over 28,000 titles, a gymnasium, and sports facilities. The college hosts an annual national-level techno-managerial event called 'Aavishkar,' organized entirely by students.
