INSTITUTE OF HOTEL MANAGEMENT CATERING TECHNOLOGY AND APPLIED NUTRITION LUCKNOW

IHM Lucknow was established in 1969 as a Food Craft Institute and was upgraded to an Institute of Hotel Management in 1980. The first batch of three-year diploma students graduated in 1983, when the institute was located on Ashok Marg road in Lucknow. Until 1989, it remained small, with around 20 diploma students admitted each year. In 1989, the institute relocated to its present premises in Sector-G, Aliganj, and batch sizes increased to about 70 students and more in later years. Between 2009 and 2012, the college shifted from a year system to a semester system, following a change in the study calendar by NCHM&CT. The institute offers courses including a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Hospitality and Hotel Administration, diplomas in Food Production, Food & Beverage Service, Bakery & Confectionery, and Front Office, and a craft certificate course in Professional Bartending. It is affiliated with Jawaharlal Nehru University, which awards the final degrees, and previously had an affiliate partnership with IGNOU. The institute has separate hostels and gyms for boys and girls, along with Bakery and Confectionery, Computer, and Audio-Visual labs.
