KANYASHREE COLLEGE
According to the text, the West Bengal state government is establishing Kanyashree colleges across the state, along with a dedicated Kanyashree University for women in Nadia district, as part of the broader Kanyashree initiative aimed at empowering girls. Kanyashree itself is a government scheme providing financial assistance to girls from low-income families to prevent child marriage and encourage continued education. The scheme includes an annual scholarship (K1) and a one-time grant (K2) for unmarried girls aged 13–18 who remain in education. In January 2019, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee laid the foundation stone for the new Kanyashree University at Krishnagar in Nadia district. The text does not provide specific details such as the founding year, affiliation, or official website of Kanyashree College itself, only that such colleges are being set up as part of the state's broader effort to promote girls' education and empowerment through the Kanyashree Prakalpa program.
