Indian Institute of Information Technology Senapati, Manipur (IIIT Senapati) is one of 25 Indian Institutes of Information Technology, a group of interdisciplinary technical universities established by the Government of India with a focus on Information Technology. It was declared an 'Institute of National Importance' through the Indian Institutes of Information Technology (Public-Private Partnership) Act, 2017, notified in the Gazette of India on 9 August 2017, which conferred this status on 15 PPP-mode IIITs including Manipur. The institute currently functions from a 13-acre city campus in Mantripukhri, Imphal, located near the Manipur High Court, CRPF Camp, and other government facilities, with six hostels for boys, one for girls, and a 200-seater food court. It is expected to move to its permanent 150-acre campus in Senapati District, under construction with a budget of about 125 crores, by June 2025. The institute has three departments: Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Humanities and Basic Sciences, offering BTech programs. Admissions are based on JEE Mains through JoSAA and CSAB. IIIT Manipur has signed MoUs with various international universities, institutes, and organizations, including the University of North Texas, NUS Singapore, IIT Kharagpur, and IIT Guwahati.
