Bangalore Institute of Technology (BIT) is an autonomous engineering college located in Bangalore, established in August 1979 under the auspices of Rajya Vokkaligara Sangha, Bengaluru. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate engineering courses, as well as management courses, and is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi. The institute is recognized by AICTE and NBA, and provides 10 undergraduate and 10 postgraduate programs, including MBA and MCA, along with PhD courses. Fields of study include Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Computer Science, Electronics, Telecommunication, Instrumentation Technology, Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, Information Science and Engineering, and Industrial Engineering and Management. BIT collaborates with the Institute of Science (IISc) and National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL) for interdisciplinary research. The college has a strong placement record, with companies like Oracle, Bosch, Dell, IBM, TCS, Infosys, and Wipro visiting for campus recruitment. Students are trained in aptitude, technical, and soft skills through seminars and workshops. Extracurricular activities include TEDxBITBangalore, the Entrepreneurship and Development Cell (EDC:BIT), Team Stratos for SAE BAJA competitions, and various clubs such as MIDAS, DIMINISHED 7th, INFINITI, and Crossfire Quizzing (CFQ).
