L J Institutes of Engineering and Technology
L. J. Institute of Engineering and Technology, commonly known as LJIET, is a private college functioning under LJ University (LJKU), situated in Sarkhej, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. LJKU is approved by the University Grants Commission and operates as a private university under the Lok Jagruti Kendra Trust, also referred to as the LJK Trust. The institute offers a range of academic programs in the field of engineering, including diploma courses, undergraduate Bachelor of Engineering degrees, and postgraduate Master of Engineering degrees. In June 2023, the institution was involved in a cybercrime incident in which a professor unintentionally forwarded a fraudulent job opportunity message that appeared to originate from a prominent group. This message was circulated among LJ University students, leading about 60 engineering students to pay ₹1,250 (US$13) each for supposed trainee engineer positions at a power generation company via QR code payments after receiving fraudulent job offer links. Following the incident, the university filed a First Information Report (FIR) with the cybercrime branch to address the fraud.
