INSTITUTE OF HOTEL MANAGEMENT CATERING AND NUTRITION AHMEDABAD
The Institute of Hotel Management, Catering & Nutrition (IHMCTAN) Ahmedabad is part of a broader network of IHM institutes in India, the most prominent of which is located in Pusa, New Delhi, and is also known as IHM Pusa or IHM Delhi. The IHM network has been recognized by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, with IHM Pusa often ranked as the top hotel management institute in the country, competing closely with IHM Mumbai. In 2016, IHMCTAN Ahmedabad, together with IHMCTAN Bhopal and IHMCTAN Jaipur, became one of the first institutes to give students the option to pursue only vegetarian cooking training. This initiative was later expanded in 2018 when the National Council for Hotel Management (NCHM) announced that all IHMs would provide a vegetarian option starting that academic year, a move described as possibly the first of its kind among hospitality training institutes worldwide. The text does not provide specific details about the founding year, affiliation, or website of the Ahmedabad institute itself.
