DR HOMI BHABHA STATE UNIVERSITY MUMBAI
Dr. Homi Bhabha State University, abbreviated as HBSU, is a public state university situated in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. The university was established in 2019 as a cluster university, a model that brings together multiple existing colleges under a single new university structure. HBSU was created by combining four colleges that had previously been affiliated with the University of Mumbai: Elphinstone College, Sydenham College, Secondary Training College, and The Institute of Science. Among these four constituent colleges, The Institute of Science serves as the main college of the newly formed university. This consolidation reflects a broader effort to restructure higher education institutions in Mumbai by uniting well-established colleges into a unified university system, allowing them to operate under the umbrella of Dr. Homi Bhabha State University rather than remaining separately affiliated with the University of Mumbai.
