Rishi Bankim Chandra Evening College
Rishi Bankim Chandra Evening College came into existence on 13 July 1984, when Rishi Bankim Chandra College, originally established in Naihati, West Bengal in 1947-48, was trifurcated for better management and more intensive monitoring of value-based education. This split created two independent institutions, Rishi Bankim Chandra College for Women and Rishi Bankim Chandra Evening College, alongside the original college. The college is located in Naihati, North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, India, and is affiliated to West Bengal State University. It offers undergraduate courses in arts, commerce and sciences. The broader institution from which it emerged has been recognized by the University Grants Commission for its academic service and offers Honours and General undergraduate studies across numerous subjects including Bengali, English, Sanskrit, History, Political Science, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology and Commerce, among others. The main college also has a Central Library with reading rooms and is accredited by NAAC, having been awarded a B++ grade in 2016.
