Jai Hind College
Jai Hind College is a public college located on 'A' Road, near Churchgate Railway Station in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, across from the Arabian Sea Marine Drive promenade. Established in 1948 by teachers displaced from D. J. Science College of Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan, under the supervision of Dr. Mohinder-Miles Morton, it began as an arts and sciences college. Over the years, it introduced new faculties: commerce in 1980, management and computer science in 1999, mass media and biotechnology in 2002, and banking and insurance in 2003. In 2000, India Today listed it among the top colleges in Mumbai for arts, sciences, and commerce. The college includes both a Junior College and a Regular Degree College, offering Science, Commerce, and Arts streams for the 12th grade examination, affiliated with the Maharashtra Board of Higher Education. It also offers bachelor's degrees affiliated with the University of Mumbai, which granted it 'Autonomous' status in 2018/19 and 'Empowered Autonomous' status in 2023. The college now offers an MSc in Big Data Analytics powered by TCS. Notable alumni include actors, singers, and business leaders such as Aishwarya Rai and Priyanka Chopra.
