Mother Teresa Women's University, Kodaikanal

Mother Teresa Women's University is a state university established in 1984 by the Government of Tamil Nadu under Tamil Nadu Act 15. It is situated in Kodaikanal, in the Palani hills of South India, and monitors, offers consultancy services, and conducts research in Women's Studies. The university also provides distance education through its School of Distance Education, which began in 1988 and has jurisdiction over the districts of Dindigul and Theni. All courses offered by the university, including postgraduate programs in science and arts, education courses, five-year integrated programmes, postgraduate diplomas, and M.Phil programmes, are open only to women candidates. The university has one constituent college, the Women's University College of Education in Kodaikanal, along with several government, autonomous, and self-financing affiliated colleges located in Dindigul, Nilakottai, Kodaikanal, Periyakulam, Palani, Theni, Cumbum, and Oddanchatram. These affiliated institutions offer various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes under the university's academic framework, further supporting women's higher education in the region.
