Sri Chaitanya Degree College

Sri Chaitanya Educational Institutions is a chain of schools, junior colleges, hostels, coaching institutions for IIT-JEE, NEET, EAMCET, and UPSC-CS preparation, and degree colleges across India. It was founded in 1986 by Dr. Boppana Satyanarayana Rao and his wife, Dr. Jhansi Lakshmi Bai Boppana, initially as a junior college for girls in Vijaywada. The institution expanded to Hyderabad in 1991 and Visakhapatnam in 1998, later spreading across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. It now operates over 321 state board-affiliated junior colleges, 322 K-10 Sri Chaitanya Techno Schools, and 107 CBSE-affiliated schools, serving more than 8.5 lakh students, making it one of Asia's largest educational franchises. In 2021, Tollywood actor Allu Arjun became its brand ambassador. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the group launched the Infinity Learn edtech platform, later partnering with Google Cloud India for AI integration. The founder, Dr. Boppana Satyanarayana Rao, died on 13 July 2023. The institution has also faced controversy, including a 2023 student suicide case at its Narsingi campus, which led to arrests of staff and derecognition of that campus, along with revelations of unauthorized additional campuses.
