Darbhanga College of Engineering

Darbhanga College of Engineering (DCE Darbhanga) is a government-owned engineering (B.Tech.) college located in Bihar, India. It was inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar, in 2008, and is affiliated with the Bihar Engineering University (BEU), Patna, and approved by the AICTE. The college is administered by the Department of Science and Technology, Bihar. Previously known as Jagannath Mishra Institute of Technology (JMIT), it reopened in 2008 under Lalit Narayan Mithila University (LNMU) with its current name. In 2011, it joined the AKU Family until 15 March 2023, after which it became part of the BEU Family. The institution's building, constructed in 1935 by Jyoti Prasad Singh, landlord of Hariharpur Estate, is an earthquake-proof structure built by M/s Bhambhri & Co. Ahmedabad. The college changed hands in 1982 due to security concerns. It offers B.Tech. programs in Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering (Cybersecurity), Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Fire Technology and Safety, along with an M.Tech. program in Power Systems. Admissions are conducted through JEE (Mains) and, earlier, through BCECE, with a special 'Lateral Entry' exam for diploma holders.
