CHAITANYA COLLEGE OF EDUCATION

Chaitanya College of Education, located in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, is affiliated with the broader Sri Chaitanya Educational Institutions network, a large group of schools, junior colleges, hostels, and coaching institutes for exams such as IIT-JEE, NEET, EAMCET, and UPSC-CS across India. The organization was founded in 1986 by Dr. Boppana Satyanarayana Rao and his wife Dr. Jhansi Lakshmi Bai Boppana, initially as a junior college for girls in Vijaywada. It later expanded with a boys' junior college in Hyderabad in 1991, and new branches were established in Visakhapatnam in 1998 and other districts of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The group grew to include over 321 state board-affiliated junior colleges, 322 K-10 Techno Schools, and 107 CBSE-affiliated schools, serving more than 8.5 lakh students, making it one of Asia's largest educational franchises. In 2021, Tollywood actor Allu Arjun became its brand ambassador. The founder, Dr. Boppana Satyanarayana Rao, passed away on 13 July 2023. The institution has also faced controversy, including a 2023 student suicide case at its Narsingi campus, which led to derecognition of that campus and revelations about unauthorized additional campuses operating under the Sri Chaitanya name.
