The Loyola-ICAM College of Engineering and Technology (LICET) is a private Catholic engineering and technology institution run by the Society of Jesus in Chennai, India. Approved by AICTE and affiliated with Anna University, it is a Christian Minority college founded in 2010 by the Jesuits of Madurai Province as part of the Chennai Jesuit Mission's efforts to empower the Dalits, the poor, and the marginalized. It emerged from a 2009 joint venture between Loyola College, Chennai (founded 1925), and the French Jesuit institute Institut Catholique d'Arts et Métiers (ICAM), founded in 1898 in Lille, France, intended to prepare Indian students for European industries and vice versa. It was inaugurated by Kalaignar M. Karunanidhi on 27 October 2010, and follows the Jesuit Ratio Studiorum with emphasis on comprehensive personal development. In July 2024, LICET became autonomous while remaining affiliated with Anna University. The college offers undergraduate degrees in fields such as Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Communication, Computer Science, Information Technology, and Artificial Intelligence and Data Science engineering. Students may pursue a Master of Engineering in France through the ICAM partnership. Facilities include a library with over 25,000 books, a Mechatronics lab, a Centre for Intelligent Systems, and a Centre of Peace prayer hall.
