GOVERNMENT POLYTECHNIC PATNA

Government Polytechnic Patna, also known as GPP7 – 118, is one of the oldest technical education institutes in Bihar, situated in Gulzarbagh, Patna, near Gaighat. It was established by the Government of Bihar under the Department of Science and Technology and is financially supported by the state government. The institute is affiliated with the State Board of Technical Education Bihar and is approved and recognised by the AICTE. It began its first academic session in 1954 and has since provided diploma-level engineering education across various disciplines, including Civil engineering, Mechanical engineering, Electrical engineering, Textile engineering, Printing technology, Ceramics engineering, Computer science and engineering, and Electronics engineering. Admission to the institute is granted to successful candidates based on the final merit list of the DCECE Entrance Examination, conducted by the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB), Patna. The institute provides facilities such as a library, workshop, and practical laboratories to support student learning. It also offers separate hostel accommodations for male and female students. Additionally, a Wi-Fi campus is available, though it is reserved exclusively for office use.
