Shyama Prasad Mukherji College for Women

Shyama Prasad Mukherji College for Women, commonly known as SPM College, is a constituent college of the University of Delhi. It is an all-women's institution founded in 1969 and named after Syama Prasad Mukherjee. Located in Punjabi Bagh (West), New Delhi, the college is well connected by the Shivaji Park and Punjabi Bagh West metro stations. It offers 19 programs, including three professional courses and nine certificate courses, covering Humanities, Commerce, Computer Science, Mathematics, and Social Science. The college provides Teachers Education Programmes such as B.Ed, B.El.Ed, and B.A. B.Ed. Secondary, and is among the few Delhi University colleges offering these outside the Central Institute of Education. The campus includes a fully digitalized library with 87,000 books, 22 journals, and 11 newspapers, along with facilities for disabled students such as ramps and Braille plates with QR codes. The governing body is constituted under the Delhi University Act, 1922, and is currently headed by Acting Principal Prof. Neelam Goel. The college also hosts Gandhi, Buddhist, and Guru Nanak Study Centres and runs study centres for the Non-Collegiate Women’s Education Board and the School of Open Learning.
