Centurion Institute of Technology

Centurion Institute of Technology was established in 2008 as a second campus, located at Bhubaneswar, of the institution then known as Jagannath Institute for Technology and Management (JITM). JITM itself had been established in 1997 at Paralakhemundi and was affiliated to Berhampur University until 2003 and subsequently to Biju Patnaik University of Technology, Rourkela, until 2010. In 2005, the institute was taken over by a group of academics led by Dr. Mukti Kanta Mishra and Prof. D.N. Rao. Following the opening of the Bhubaneswar campus in 2008, the broader institution was transformed into Centurion University of Technology and Management (CUTM) in August 2010, through an act of the Odisha Legislative Assembly, granting it university status. The Bhubaneswar campus, on the fringes of the city near Jatni, eventually became the main campus of CUTM. In 2016, this campus was ranked 81 among engineering institutions in India by the Ministry of Education under the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF).
