Midnapore Medical College and Hospital, located in Paschim Medinipur, West Bengal, is a full-fledged tertiary referral government medical college established in 2004. It was earlier known as Midnapore Sadar Hospital, offering only medical services, before the state government upgraded it into a medical college. The college imparts the Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) degree, along with specialised and post-doctoral degrees. Nursing and para-medical courses are also offered under the State Medical Faculty of West Bengal. The institution is affiliated to the West Bengal University of Health Sciences and is recognised by the National Medical Commission. The associated hospital is one of the largest in the Midnapore district. Admission to the MBBS course is based on merit through the National Eligibility and Entrance Test, with an annual undergraduate intake of 200 students since 2019. Paramedical admissions are conducted through the SMFWBEE Exam. The college also offers postgraduate degrees in nine clinical and non-clinical disciplines, including Anaesthesiology, General Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Pediatrics, ENT, General Surgery, Ophthalmology, Pharmacology, and Forensic Medicine.
