The College of Nursing is part of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhayaya University of Health Sciences, Karnal, located in Kutail, Karnal, Haryana, India. The university was established by Haryana Act No. 27 of 2016, initially named University of Health Sciences, Karnal, and later renamed Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhayaya University of Health Sciences, Karnal through an amendment act passed in 2018. The concept for the university originated in 2016 after a proposal by the Department of Medical Education and Research, Haryana, and was approved by then Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar along with the Haryana Cabinet. The Government of Haryana sought assistance from the Bloomberg School of Public Health at Johns Hopkins University in the United States for setting up the institution. Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College serves as the mother institution. The campus spans 178 acres near the Grand Trunk Road, leased for 99 years from Kutail village at Rs 1 per acre. The university commenced classes for 44 BSc Nursing and 30 BSc Physiotherapy students in November 2018, initially operating from the Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College campus while its own buildings were under construction.
