SKN COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURE, JOBNER

Shri Karan Narendra College of Agriculture, also called SKN College of Agriculture, is situated in Jobner, Rajasthan, India. It traces its origins to the Anglo-Vedic High School established in 1893 by Rawal Karan Singh of Jobner, inspired by Swami Dayanand Saraswati. In July 1947, his son Rawal Narendra Singh upgraded the school into a full-fledged agriculture college, making it the first institute devoted to agricultural education in Rajasthan at that time. The college is a constituent college of Sri Karan Narendra Agriculture University. It currently comprises 15 departments and offers B.Sc.(Ag.) Hons, M.Sc.(Ag.) in 11 subjects, and Ph.D. in 8 subjects. It has about 100 faculty members, 400 non-teaching staff, and around 400 enrolled students. In the Indian Council of Agricultural Research's 2020 ranking of agricultural universities, the college was placed 54th nationally. The college gained attention that year for a groundwater recharging project that helped a nearby Rajasthan village meet its water needs. Admission to the B.Sc.(Ag.) Hons program is through the Joint Entrance Test (JET) conducted by Rajasthan Agricultural University, Bikaner, or Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Udaipur, requiring candidates to have passed 12th grade in Agriculture or Science.
