Nehru Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital

Nehru Homeopathic Medical College & Hospital (NHMCH) is a homeopathic medical college located in New Delhi. It offers two courses in homeopathic education: a Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (B.H.M.S) and an MD (Hom). The college has been affiliated with the University of Delhi since 1992 and functions under the Government of Delhi, and is regarded as one of the topmost and premier Homeopathic Medical Colleges for B.H.M.S in India. The college and its attached hospital were founded by Padma Bhushan winner Yudhvir Singh. The foundation stone of the college building was laid by Sushila Nayyar, Minister of Health and Family Welfare, India, on 22 August 1963. The OPD Wing was inaugurated by Lal Bahadur Shastri on 6 May 1964. Classes began in 1967 for the DHMS Course, later upgraded to the BHMS course under the Board of Homoeopathic System of Medicine. On 1 September 1972, the institution was handed over by the Yudhvir Singh Charitable Trust to the University of Delhi Administration. After the Government of Delhi procured the college, Jugal Kishore was made its first director. In April 2020, the hospital was briefly designated for COVID-19 patients, which drew objections from nearby residents concerned about safety.
