BALASORE INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCE
According to the available information, a satellite centre associated with AIIMS Bhubaneswar was planned to be established in Balasore, Odisha. The facility was designed to occupy about 25 acres (approximately 10 hectares) of land and was intended to house a 300-bed multi-specialty hospital. The foundation stone for this satellite centre was laid on 25 August 2018 by the Union Minister of Health, J. P. Nadda. This centre was conceived as an extension of AIIMS Bhubaneswar, aiming to expand healthcare access in the Balasore region of Odisha. No further details about its academic programs, affiliation status, administration, or operational date are provided in the available text. The initiative reflects efforts to decentralize specialized medical services from the main AIIMS Bhubaneswar campus to nearby districts, with Balasore selected as the location for this satellite hospital project.
