GIRIJANANDA CHOWDHURY INSTITUTE OF PHARMACEUTICAL SCIENCE TEZPUR

GIMT-Tezpur is a private institute offering technical degree courses in Assam, established by the Shrimanta Shankar Academy Society and the Government of Assam, making it the first institution in the northeastern region set up under a Public-Private Partnership model. It received approval from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and is currently affiliated with Assam Science and Technology University, having previously been affiliated with Gauhati University from 2011 to 2016. The institute offers a four-year Bachelor of Technology program in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, and Electronics and Communication Engineering, each with 60 seats, with 18% of seats reserved for a government quota. Admission is through the Common Entrance Exam and Joint Entrance Examination. The institute has 23 departmental laboratories, undergraduate and allied departments including Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Humanities and Social Science, and Computer Science. Facilities include a bus service, canteen, a boys' hostel with 170 seats, and nearby authorized girls' hostels. The institute hosts an annual fest called Avante Coureur, publishes an annual magazine called GIMTIAN, and has a photography club named ZOOMERSZIG.
