NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF FASHION TECHNOLOGY, GANDHINAGAR

National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Gandhinagar is one of the campuses of NIFT, an autonomous institute that offers courses in fashion, technology, and management, with its head office located in New Delhi. NIFT was originally established in 1986 under the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, and was declared a statutory institute in 2006 under the NIFT Act, which empowered it to grant its own degrees. The Gandhinagar campus was set up in 1995, alongside campuses in Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Navi Mumbai. NIFT now has 19 campuses across the country. The institute provides facilities such as computer labs, sewing machine labs, photography labs, pattern making and draping labs, weaving labs, dyeing and printing labs, technology labs, garment technology labs, leather design labs, accessory design labs, a library, hostel, canteen, health care, gym, and sports center. Academically, NIFT offers undergraduate programmes such as Bachelor in Design and Bachelor in Fashion Technology, postgraduate programmes including Master's in Design, Master's in Fashion Technology, and Master's in Fashion Management, as well as doctoral programmes and continuing education programmes.
