Andhra University College of Engineering, also known as AU College of Engineering, is an autonomous college and extension campus of Andhra University in Visakhapatnam, India. It was established in 1955 as the Department of Engineering, initially offering Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering under the leadership of Prof. Devaguptapu Seethapathi Rao and Prof. Kalavapudi Krishnamacharyulu, with support from Vice Chancellors V.S. Krishna and A.L. Narayana. In 1960 the department moved to its present 165-acre North campus, and in 1966 it was converted into the College of Engineering (Autonomous), becoming a constituent of Andhra University. It holds an A+ NAAC rating and is one of four lead institutions in Andhra Pradesh selected for World Bank aid. Admission is through EAMCET, AUEET, GATE, or PGECET. The college collaborates internationally with institutions such as Blekinge Institute of Technology, Perth College, and Group-T International University, and was the first general university in India to receive ISO 9001:2000 certification in 2006.
