Established in 1998, the college is affiliated with Anna University and, as of January 2011, offers five undergraduate courses. The Trust purchased 41.7 acres of land in Konalai Village to establish the college. It was started by Mr. S. Subramaniam, chairman of Mookambigai College of Engineering, who also serves as Secretary of TEC, with the aim of providing quality engineering education under a disciplined culture, especially for minority students from Tamil Nadu and neighboring states. TEC is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and was previously affiliated with Bharathidasan University. The college has nine departments, including Computer Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, along with facilities such as a library of nearly 25,000 books, separate hostels, a canteen, and about 500 computers.
