Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India University, Meghalaya

The Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India (ICFAI) was established in 1984 as a non-profit educational society in Hyderabad, Telangana, India, founded by N. J. Yasaswy, Besant C. Raj, and Dr. Prasanna Chandra. ICFAI has a national presence, having sponsored and established eleven universities across India. Ten of these, including the one in Meghalaya, were established through acts passed by the respective state legislative assemblies, covering states such as Uttarakhand, Tripura, Jharkhand, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, West Bengal, Meghalaya, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, and Himachal Pradesh. The eleventh, ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education, is a deemed-to-be University under the UGC Act, 1956. These institutions offer education across India through various higher education programs, including case-study based pedagogy notably used at ICFAI Business Schools (IBS). ICFAI has also been involved in trademark disputes with the CFA Institute, USA, over use of the 'CFA' designation, and with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) over professional recognition of its Chartered Financial Analyst qualification.
