Fr. Muller Medical College

Father Muller Medical College is a private medical school situated at Kankanady in Mangaluru, Karnataka, forming part of the Father Muller Charitable Institutions (FMCI). Its origins trace back to 1880, when Father Muller Hospital was founded by Fr. Augustus Muller, a German Jesuit priest, who initially dispensed homeopathic medicines. Over time, the hospital expanded into a leprosy hospital and later a full-fledged medical facility, eventually establishing nursing schools and other allied health programs. In 1989, the Fr. Muller Institute of Medical Education and Research was constituted, and by 1999 the institution was raised to the status of a Medical College with the introduction of the MBBS course. The college is affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and offers a four-and-a-half-year MBBS program with 150 seats, filled through KEA counselling based on NEET scores. It also provides undergraduate courses in physiotherapy, medical laboratory technology, audiology, and radiography, along with postgraduate MD/MS and diploma programs in various specialties. The college is administered under the Diocese of Mangalore and conducts regular health camps, sports events, and cultural festivals such as 'Mullerfest' and 'Deca Fest'.
