Government Engineering College, Palamu (GEC Palamu) is a state government engineering institution situated in Basaura village, Lesliganj, Palamu district, Jharkhand, India, about 13 kilometres from Daltonganj railway station. Established by the Government of Jharkhand in 2022 under the Department of Higher and Technical Education, it aims to expand public technical education in the Palamu region. The 7.65-acre campus includes academic buildings, laboratories, administrative offices, three hostels, faculty and staff apartments, a library, IT infrastructure, and sports facilities. In April 2026, the college inaugurated the Udaan Bharat Center to foster innovation and entrepreneurship. The institute offers Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) programs in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science, and Civil engineering, following the curriculum of Jharkhand University of Technology (JUT), to which it is affiliated. It is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Admissions are based on JEE Main scores, with counselling conducted by the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB). The college provides hostel accommodation, scholarships like the e-Kalyan Scheme, and organizes technical, cultural, and sports events. As a newly established institution, its placement activities are still developing, supported by a Training and Placement Cell that facilitates internships and career guidance.
