Cambridge College

Cambridge College is a private college headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts, with a regional center in San Juan, Puerto Rico. It originated as a graduate program created by Eileen Moran Brown and Joan Goldsmith within the Institute of Open Education, founded in 1971 by John Bremer at Newton College of the Sacred Heart. The program later affiliated with Antioch College before becoming an independent, fully accredited institution named Cambridge College in 1979. In 2017, the college consolidated its four Cambridge-area locations into a single campus in Charlestown, Boston. In 2020, it acquired the New England College of Business and Finance, later rebranded as Cambridge College Global, which offers fully online associate, bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees, including an MBA and DBA, along with certificates. The college is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education and authorized to operate by the California Bureau for Private Post-Secondary and Vocational Education and the Council on Higher Education of Puerto Rico. In July 2024, Bay Path University acquired Cambridge College, though the two institutions continue to operate under separate names. Notable alumni include Brad Hatfield, a professor at Berklee College of Music, and Rhode Island politician Joe Polisena.
