ST. AUGUSTINEs COLLEGE

St Augustine's College, Sydney is an independent Roman Catholic single-sex primary and secondary day school for boys, located in Brookvale, on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It caters to approximately 1,200 boys from Year 5 to Year 12, with an education ethos based on Augustinian tradition. The school was founded in 1956 by Fr. Thomas Alphonsus Hunt, OSA, at the request of the then Archbishop of Sydney, Norman Cardinal Gilroy, and was originally known as St Augustine's College, Brookvale until 2003, when it was renamed St Augustine's College, Sydney due to its International Student Program. The college is a member of the Independent Sporting Association (ISA) and has a brother school, Villanova College, in Brisbane. It teaches the curriculum of the NSW Education Standards Authority along with Catholic and Augustinian values. The patron saint of the college is Augustine of Hippo, and its motto is 'Vincit Veritas' (Truth Conquers). The school has a strong sporting tradition, producing Olympians and representatives in various sports including rugby union, rugby league, and swimming.
